Euthanasia (Loss of Friend)

We at Crossroads Animal Hospital are very compassionate when it comes to you having to make the decision to put your beloved member of the family to sleep.  We generally give an intramuscular tranquilizer which takes about 4 - 6 minutes to take effect so that your pet is comfortable. We then administer the final intravenous injection which stops the heart and respirations. This process is very peaceful.  You may elect to be present or not for this procedure.  You may take your pet home for burial (check local ordinances), make your own arrangements, allow our hospital to bury your pet (communal cremation) , or you may request private cremation (ashes returned to our hospital).

Most of our Communal and private cremations are handled by Pet Heaven

You may also make your own arrangements for Private Burial or Cremation through McLean Pet Care Services
